Corbin is a highly respected former ship captain and informant who operated a covert smuggling network for those needing to disappear. He became a critical link for the party after revealing he had been tracking necromantic shipments involving “Winter’s Core.”

Biography & Personality

Corbin was known in Onasea as the town’s best ship captain before his sudden disappearance. He is a cautious, capable man with a background in smuggling and information brokering. His expertise lies in “the net” - a secret network dedicated to helping individuals evade authority.

Though he spent a month in isolation within a trapped sea cave, he remains a dedicated ally to those opposing the necromancers. He values his independence and the safety of his kin above all else, eventually choosing to flee into the wilderness to “begin again” rather than remain under the party’s protection or return to his former life.

Campaign History

  • Entry 37 (The Missing Captain): The party arrives in Onasea and learns that Corbin has been missing for a month. Villagers reveal he was asking “too many questions” about unusual shipments before vanishing, leaving his ship, the Albany Castle, abandoned at the docks.
  • Entry 38 (The Sea Cave Meeting): The party tracks Corbin to a trapped sea cave north of the docks. He reveals he was forced into hiding after tracking shipments of necromantic artifacts and mentions of “Winter’s Core.” He fulfills a request from Orris Locke by handing Lavender the Grey Pearl and instructing her to find Captain Voss.
  • Entry 38 (The Underwater Escape): During their meeting, the cave is ambushed by necromancers. Corbin leads the party through a secret, partially submerged tunnel to safety. Once in the forest, he declines further assistance from the party, accepts a bag of gold from Mary-Ann, and disappears into the trees to start his life over.

Key Relationships

  • Lavender: Corbin acted as a crucial intermediary for her, delivering a message and an artifact from her brother, Orris.

  • Captain Voss: A fellow captain and member of his smuggling network whom Corbin vouched for as a reliable means of reaching Adalens.
  • Mary-Ann: A brief benefactor who provided him with gold to aid his relocation.

  • Crossbow: His primary weapon, used defensively during his time in hiding.
