Overview
A secret lair and base of operations for Orris Locke and his necromantic followers, located deep beneath the Mayoral Manor in Arcadia. The halls are carved from dark basalt rock.

- Hidden Entrance: The lair is accessed via a secret stone door in the Mayoral Manor’s cellar. Theren located it by noticing a section of dado rail that was clean, unlike the rest of the dusty hallway. Lavender heard a constant clicking from the wall, which Gage identified as a modified clockwork mechanism. Theren discovered the lock’s ticks matched a nearby grandfather clock; he opened the door by moving the clock’s hands to the witching hour.
- The Shadowy Passageway: Beyond the door, a long, rough-hewn basalt passageway descends into the darkness. It smells strongly of decaying flesh. The shadows in this tunnel are menacing, physically pulling back and screeching at the light from Lavender’s sword.
- Antechamber: The passageway widens into a chamber containing a desk. This room serves as a checkpoint, guarded by a half-skull zombie assistant, and contains the wooden door leading into the main cavern.
- Main Cavern: Beyond the antechamber is a vast, dark cavern filled with various dark activities and inhabitants. It serves as the antithesis to the Displaced Camp.
- Makeshift Building: At the far end of the cavern is a large, makeshift building.
- Waiting Room: Inside the building is a small seating area where visitors are made to wait.
- Inner Office: This is where Orris Locke conducts his business and holds audiences.
Our Experience
We infiltrated the Mayoral Manor on Day 12, believing it to be the center of the necromancers’ power. Theren discovered the hidden entrance to the lair in the cellar.
After proceeding through, we were met by a zombie assistant and, after a tense exchange, were granted an audience. A bugbear led us through the bustling, dark cavern to a building. After a significant wait, we were finally brought in to meet Or-” “-ris himself, who was revealed to be Lavender’s brother.
