Lady Bromelia (full name Bromelia Porthwaite) is the leader of the rebel faction known as The Displaced and was the central figure of the party’s initial quest following her high-profile disappearance in Durvish City.

Biography & Personality

Originally introduced as a noblewoman set to wed Lord Requiem of Avalon, Bromelia was initially perceived as a victim of a dramatic kidnapping by a griffin-riding mage. In reality, she is a woman of immense agency who orchestrated her own abduction to escape a forced political marriage she despised. Since leaving her noble life behind, she has undergone a significant physical transformation, increasing her muscle mass and adopting the rugged leather armour and heavy weaponry of a front-line soldier.

As the leader of the Displaced, she is focused on revenge and securing a home for outcasts. She is strategic and cautious, operating from a hidden cavern in The Frost, yet she remains empathetic toward those who, like her, have no place to belong. Despite her rebel status, she maintains a certain noble dignity and is a source of wisdom for those struggling with their identities.

Campaign History

• Entry 01 (The Wedding Abduction): Bromelia appeared at her wedding ceremony in Durvish City, clearly distraught and unwilling to wed Lord Requiem. The ceremony was interrupted by a man in black who seized her and escaped on a griffin, heading north.
• Entry 11 (The Rebel Revelation): The party tracks the griffin to a hidden cavern in the northern mountains, where they are shocked to find Bromelia leading a massive underground community of outcasts. She reveals her kidnapping was a ruse and explains her goal to seize Arcadia from the necromancers to provide a safe haven for her people.
• Entry 13 (The Infiltration Plan): Bromelia meets with Lavender to discuss the necromancer hierarchy. She reveals that Lavender’s brother, Orris Locke, is training in necromancy in Arcadia and proposes an alliance, acknowledging that Lavender’s noble background makes her the perfect candidate for infiltration.
• Entry 14 (Counselling Theren): Sensing Theren’s desire for belonging, Bromelia discusses his potential future with the Displaced but ultimately encourages him not to abandon his companions, noting that his answers likely lie elsewhere.
