The harsh northern territories of Grimmora, characterized by snow-covered landscapes, freezing temperatures, and dangerous mountain passes. The Frost is a land of hardy survivors, ancient mysteries, and deadly creatures.
Geography
The Frost dominates the northern reaches of the known world, featuring:
- Snow-covered mountain ranges with treacherous passes
- Dense pine forests inhabited by dangerous creatures
- High-altitude settlements built to withstand extreme cold
- Mountain caves and hidden valleys
The climate is harsh year-round, with bitter cold, heavy snowfall, and dangerous weather conditions. Travelers need proper winter gear and supplies to survive here.

- Mightrest - Northern town that suffered from a magical plague (now resolved); base for mountain expeditions
- Frostpeak Pass - Small village serving as a waystation for travelers heading deeper into the mountains
- Arcadia - City to the northwest, reportedly taken over by necromancers (not yet visited)

- Alpine Forest - Forested area northwest of Mightrest where we hunted ice wolves
- Dragon’s Nest - Mountain lair where we defeated an ice dragon
- Auriel’s Church - Hidden church to the goddess of duality, guarded by dangerous vines

What We Know
The Frost is a region where survival is the primary concern. Settlements are small and isolated, with inhabitants accustomed to harsh conditions and constant threats from the environment and creatures.
The region has been touched by ancient magic and supernatural forces. We’ve encountered:
- A magical plague that turned out to be vampiric feeding
- Ancient trial systems left by the goddess Auriel
- Ice dragons and other cold-adapted monsters
- Ice Wolves hunting in packs
Despite the dangers, there are resources here worth braving the cold for - we’ve found winter gear, potions, and other supplies necessary for mountain expeditions.
People & Culture
The people of The Frost are hardy and resilient, used to hardship and isolation. They:
- Maintain small communities focused on survival
- Trade in winter supplies, cold-weather gear, and mountain-specific resources
- Have knowledge of local dangers (griffins, ice wolves, etc.)
- Show remarkable toughness in the face of supernatural threats

Our Experience
We were teleported to Mightrest by the fey mage Millicent and spent significant time here dealing with the vampire plague. The region tested us with extreme cold, dangerous creatures, and supernatural threats.

The Frost has proven to be one of the most challenging regions we’ve explored, but also rewarding in terms of experience and loot.
