When: Day 18 Region: Avalonean Empire
Overview
Midward is a town south of Pinechill that serves as a waypoint for travelers heading toward the southern coast. It’s larger and more developed than typical villages, with a marketplace and various services for travelers.
Geography
Located in the southern portion of the Avalonean Empire, between Pinechill to the north and Onasea to the south. The climate here is milder - no snow this far south, though overcast days are common.
Midward serves as a connection point for caravans heading to Onasea village and its quay, making it important for trade routes to the coast.
Character
A nice town with a functional marketplace and services. It has more infrastructure than smaller villages like Pinechill, serving as a proper stopping point for merchants and travelers.
Points of Interest

- Alchemist shop - Purchases ingredients and sells potions
Services
- Lodging (inns available)
- General supplies and provisions
- Caravan connections to Onasea
Notable NPCs
- Red-skinned dwarf merchant - Jet-black hair, deals in weapons. Purchased Theren’s shortsword and light crossbow for 13 gold pieces
- Alchemist - Purchased spider fangs from Theren for 10 silver pieces each
Our Experience
We arrived in Midward mid-afternoon on Day 18, traveling with our new companion Anaphel. It was an overcast day, and we noted the milder climate compared to the north.
Theren conducted business in the marketplace:
- Sold a shortsword from a fallen foe and his light crossbow to the dwarf merchant for 13 gold pieces
- Examined the merchant’s staves but didn’t purchase
- Sold spider fangs to an alchemist for 10 silver pieces each
Anaphel disguised themselves and followed Theren during his marketplace activities.
Later, Temerity spent time meditating just south of town, dealing with personal matters related to his choker and his past before heading toward Durendal at nightfall.
