Halsen
Character Overview
Halsen is the powerful druid leader of the enclave at Silvanus’ Beard and a close ally to Gage. He is also the father of the three druid children who frequent the city of Avalon.
Biography & Personality
Halsen is a “huge, buff elf” who oversees the druidic community at Silvanus’ Beard. He is deeply knowledgeable about nature and sustainability, teaching methods of sustainable fishing and animal husbandry. He possesses a wise and protective demeanour, often seen playing with the children of the enclave despite his imposing presence.
He is empathetic toward those suffering from magical ailments but maintains a strict policy of non-interference regarding the politics of other religions, such as the Temple of Sol. He is highly respected within his grove and acts as a mentor figure to those seeking to protect the natural world.
Campaign History
- Entry 27 (The Grove Leader): Gage seeks out the leader of Silvanus’ Beard to learn about the area. Halsen welcomes him, introduces him to the enclave’s sustainable practices, and discusses reports of necromantic tainting in the region.
- Entry 28 (The Druid Children): Although Halsen is not present in the park, his three children (in the forms of a raven, jackalope, and weasel) interact with Theren and Gage. Gage later mentions they will meet at Silvanus’ Beard.
- Entry 29 (Analysing the Dark Artefact): The party brings a dark, cloudy gem taken from the Temple of Sol to Halsen. He identifies powerful binding magic on the stone and provides a Rune Box to shield its magical signature. He advises the party to seek a reclusive druid in Crystalmine Village for further help.
- Entry 32 (The Bridgeport Artefacts): The party returns to Halsen with artefacts found in the Bridgeport Warehouse. He identifies that a Corrupted Censer has been perverted to cause sickness and notes that a pocket watch found by the party is an object of chronomancy.
