Lyra Valstrath is the High Priestess of the Master of Ash and a fanatical adversary seeking the Ring of Orris to destroy the goddess Auriel.
Biography & Personality
Lyra is a figure of intense heat and devotion, with dark red skin and eyes that glow like coals. Her cloak and hair often flutter as if they are tongues of flame. She possesses a magically amplified voice that sounds warm and harsh, likened to the sound of a forge.
She is utterly devoted to the Master of Ash, expressing that her worst form of punishment would be to fail her master. She appears ruthless and transactional, offering the crew of the Tidecaller safety only in exchange for the ring, while threatening to take it from Lavender’s “charred corpse” if refused.
Campaign History
- Entry 41 (Ambush at Sea): Intercepted the Tidecaller aboard a massive ship of dark wood thrice the size of the party’s vessel. Claimed to be the successor to Magnus.
- Entry 41 (Battle of the Tidecaller): Teleported onto the Tidecaller bow after a failed parley. She utilized ray of enfeeblement on Lavender and unleashed necrotic blasts and a fiery whip. She was eventually knocked unconscious by Gage’s bow.
- Entry 41 (Interrogation): Bound and sat upon by Temerity, she revealed the Master of Ash seeks to destroy his “competition” - the entity of balance inside the ring - to tip the cosmic scales in his favour. She recognized the name Sargonnas but refused to comment on Pellor.
- Entry 41 (Arrival at Port Adal): Upon reaching the docks, she was picked up and thrown overboard by Captain Voss.
